Fundraiser for those expelled from Artsakh
Dear friends, dear sisters and brothers,
As a result of the 44-day war in Nagorno-Karabakh, around 90,000 people and 25,000 families had to flee their homes and seek temporary protection in Armenia. Some of them returned and are gradually returning to Artsakh in recent weeks. Nevertheless, around 35,000 people or around 9,000 families who found temporary shelter in Armenia unfortunately have no opportunity to return to their homes and homes, as these were either completely destroyed or handed over to Azerbaijan. They must remain in Armenia at least until spring and continue to live in shelters. The vast majority of them have lost all their belongings and need our strong support. The winter is coming. The already difficult economic situation has deteriorated further due to the war and the corona pandemic.
The Armenian Apostolic Church of course supports these families. Our St Etchmiadzin Church Center and a number of the dioceses in Armenia have opened the doors of their facilities to refugees and these facilities are now housing around 320 people, many of whom are children and the elderly. The church takes care of these people physically and morally and takes care of their daily food.
With the blessing of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, the Armenian Apostolic Church with its worldwide dioceses intends, in the next four months (December 2020 - March 2021), to provide approximately 2,500 displaced persons and 600 families with food and hygiene articles and to bear their heating and electricity costs.
The Diocese of the Armenian Church in Germany sees it as its duty to support this godly, humanitarian project and would like to take on the care of 50 displaced families for the specified period.

How can I work on this project
participate and support it?
Any person or family can cover the planned costs of a displaced family from Artsakh for one to four months. Of course you can also support the project with a large or small donation. Our goal is to ensure the care of at least 50 families from December to the end of March.
I cordially invite the members of our German-Armenian community and our friends to contribute with their small or large donations to the realization of this necessary and godly project.
Together, let us feel the warmth of our love for the displaced, needy people of Artsakh, who have lost their dwellings and homes, in these difficult days.
You can provide your financial support, either through our fundraiser Facebook (Armenian Church in Germany) or via PayPal at this link: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/ArmenischeKircheinDe as well as by bank transfer to the following account:
