 Today's reading is about Christian humility.
“The thought arose among them as to which of them was the greatest. Jesus saw the thought in their hearts. For whoever is the smallest among you all is great.” Luke 9:46:48
Children are the purest, humblest and most defenseless human beings that Jesus compared even the kingdom of heaven to.
One of the evils of this world is pride, which is the main characteristic of the devil. And vice versa, whoever is humble is like Jesus, who spent his whole earthly life in humility, visiting the poor and sick, washing the feet of his disciples.
The Doctors of the Church say: Everyone who is a peacemaker and a lover of peace is called a son of God because he is doing God's work, and whoever is a rioter who incites people to rebellion and painful battles is the son of the devil and is doing the work of God devil.
Humility is poverty and wealth is greed. These words are synonymous. But blessed is the poor man who is humble in spirit and not poor because of circumstance and material need. And many rich people, as the fathers say, will enter the kingdom of God if they are kind, merciful, incorruptible, just, humble, do not rob others, do not make friends with thieves and do not commit adultery, take care of other orphans and widows and all under their care.
Let's be humble, meek, away from anger and gossip, let's not confuse humility with poverty, and those who cannot control their feelings get angry, constantly blame others, abandon humility and approach pride and the devil. Let us bow before God with a Christian spirit:
 "For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted." Matthew 23.12
