Vater Aygik Hovhannisyan was born on October 9, 1985 in the city of Etchmiadzin/Armenia.

In 2002 he was admitted to the “Gevorkyan” Theological Academy of St. Etchmiadzin and graduated in 2008.

On December 25, 2006, on the feast of the first deacon and martyr St. Stephen, he was ordained a deacon. Deacon Serob served in the All Armenian Catholicate as Secretary to His Holiness from 2008-2010.

With the blessing of the Catholicos of All Armenians, HH Karekin II, Deacon Serob is ordained by the former Primate Karekin Bekdjian and, after a period of preparation in Armenia, is placed in the service of the Diocese of the Armenian Church in Germany. 2010 November 14- Ordination in Goppinger Surb Khachtch Armenian Church.

From 2010 to 2012 he was parish priest for North Rhine-Westphalia and the surrounding area. Since 2013 parish priest in Bavaria for the Nuremberg and Munich congregations, living in Nuremberg. Father Aygik Hovhannisyan is married, has two daughters.
