GAccording to the blessing and the decree of HE Bishop Serovpé Isakhanyan, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Germany, Archimandrite Yeghishe Avetisyan was installed as parish priest in and around Berlin from September 2018.

Father Yeghishe Avetisyan, given the baptismal name Khachik, was born in 1977 in Musaler (Armenia). He is a celibate priest.

He studied at the Vazgenian seminary in Sevan/Armenia and completed his master's degree at the Theological Gevorgyan Academy in St. Etchmiadzin, with his master's thesis on "The life and activities of Archimandrite Howhannes from Yerzinka-Tsortsor". He studied further at the Faculty of History at Yerevan State University. He obtained his vartabet title through his diploma thesis "Book of Addition" by Gregor from Sanahin, son of Abas.

Father Yeghishe began his ministry in the Armenian Church in 1994 at the Vazgenian Seminary in Sevan. From 2001 he continued his ministry as a deacon in the treasury of St. Echmiadzin, as well as in museums and the Christian Education Center. At the same time he served as a training clergyman in the monastery of Geghard. On February 27, 2003 he was ordained a priest by Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan on the Feast of the Transfiguration and received the religious name Yeghishe.

In his spiritual career, Father Yeghishe Avetisyan gained experience as a priest and teacher in Armenian monasteries and churches, as well as in Belgium (Sefton Catholic Monastery). From 2008 to 2011 he served as parish priest in Berlin and the surrounding area. After his return to Armenia, he was appointed chaplain for the World Federation of Young People at the Church of Armenia.

From 2013 to 2018 he served on the orders of the Catholicos of All Armenians in Sweden. Father Yeghische has been back in Germany since 2018 and served as a parish priest in Berlin and the surrounding area until mid-March 2024. From mid-March 2024 he was commissioned to look after the community of Cologne and the surrounding area.
